Ran a political campaign to be elected as VPPR. Selected & trained a team of 6 Student Union communications officers (COMSU) through a merit-based application system, including paper exams, interviews, and field evaluations. Led these 6 officers to manage outreach for the council, including communication with school staff/administration, marketing and MCing at official SU events. Trained MCs and tech officers from each club and council to ensure their events run smoothly. Successfully fulfilled responsibility of managing the auditorium technology (sound, lights, and cameras).
Delivered an empowering speech for class elections and was selected out of a pool of ~10 candidates. Worked in a team of 33 to bridge the gap between students and the Student Union at our high school. Helped organize large school-wide events, theme weeks, and competitions to keep the high school spirit alive, including a Haunted House, a Winter Formal Dance, and Valentine's Day relay competitions. Also organized smaller events for our class to boost student morale, such as Secret Santa, and made frequent announcements to the class on a weekly schedule. Our school-wide food bank fundraiser raised 1547 items for Edmonton's Food Bank, 1299 of which were on the most-needed list, as well as $1021 in direct donations. Raised $13k+ for the local Kids with Cancer charity.
